Founder

With a thirst for knowledge and a spirit for adventure, Daniel Nichols embarked on a journey that would intertwine academic pursuits with military service and a blossoming career in storytelling. Holding degrees from Grove City College, Asbury Theological Seminary, and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, Daniel’s diverse educational background laid the groundwork for his multifaceted life.

His path took a profound turn as a Navy Chaplain, a role that brought him to the front lines of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. His experiences and letters from combat were so compelling that they were featured in Jane Hampton Cook’s book and a collection titled Stories of Faith and Courage from the War in Iraq and Afghanistan. These wartime experiences would later inspire his own creative endeavors, shaping his understanding of courage, resilience, and the power of narrative.

Upon returning from combat, Daniel channeled his experiences into entrepreneurial and creative endeavors. He conceived and launched “Patriot Day Live,” a concert series that united Nashville producers and musicians to raise awareness and support for veterans recovering from combat-related injuries like PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury. These heartfelt concerts even graced Walter Reed Medical Center, and featured opening acts for Daughtry and the USO, demonstrating his dedication to healing through art. His influence also extended to film, where he created “Military to Medicine: New American Country in Tribute to the Military Wife” and championed the distribution of the award-winning documentary “Where Soldiers Come From.”

In 2019, alongside his family, Daniel launched HappyGoLukky Productions, giving birth to a family-friendly storytelling podcast that quickly soared to #21 on Apple Podcasts. This venture, born from their shared love for tabletop gaming, directly led to the creation of the Chronicles of Eridul series and the enchanting book, Charlie Saves Christmas. The podcast’s success, including an “Outstanding Fantasy” award from the New Jersey Webfest in 2021, is a testament to the family’s collaborative spirit and Daniel’s imaginative vision.

In collaboration with Mike Atchley and Joleen Fresquez, he co-founded Good Ham Productions, a creative hub for their award-winning audio fiction, publishing, and musical projects, including the captivating Chronicles of Eridul and Dawn of Dragons audio dramas. In 2021, Daniel authored the first novel in this fantastical universe, Charlie Saves Christmas, inviting readers into a world crafted with heart and imagination.

Residing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with his wife Rachael and their puppy Penny, Daniel is not just an author; he is a veteran, a creative force, and a dedicated family man who transforms life’s experiences into captivating tales, inspiring young minds to dream and explore new worlds.
